A Message from the Principal

Our mission is to empower the leader within each individual.

Welcome to you and your family as we begin the partnership together to ensure your child has the best learning experiences and development opportunities possible in their Foundation (formally known as Prep) - Year 6 years of schooling.

At Gladesville individual students are supported and encouraged to develop their talents, build resilience and confidence, and have respect for themselves and others. Stephen Covey’s ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ is a character development approach demonstrated by staff across all teaching and learning experiences. Sean Covey’s ‘7 Habits of Happy Kids’ is the strategy teachers are implementing to create highly effective children.
Gladesville Primary School is modern in its approach to educating our students. We offer a community environment where every child is equal, valued and supported. We pride ourselves on our commitment and reputation for forming, encouraging, nurturing and maintaining strong family partnerships where you are actively involved in your child’s learning. Our flexible curriculum allows and supports children to develop at their own pace and feel a sense of pride and enjoyment in their learning. We provide our students with diverse opportunities to reach their full potential, inspiring the leader within each individual child. We believe all children can learn and develop self-confidence, self-esteem and self-discipline in a safe and supportive community.

One of our greatest strengths is our dedicated and experienced staff. Our smaller numbers allow each and every staff member to know every student. Professionalism, instructional capacity and accountability of our teachers are foundational to the education students receive ensuring each child’s learning is scaffolded in their learning zone. Significant resources are applied to ensure our teachers provide quality instruction and evidence - based student outcomes. Our Wellbeing Programs support and nurture the emotional and social health of every child. Students develop strategies to build resilience, express their feelings and have tolerance and understanding of others.

Your involvement in your child’s learning in partnership with the school cannot be over emphasised. As parents, the school values your support to optimise your child’s learning and development. We have a strong Parent and Community partnership at Gladesville Primary School and I encourage you to be involved where possible, whether it is through reading at home with and to them, supporting and encouraging your child’s independence appropriate to their age or simply being positive about school and learning.

We extend a warm welcome to all parents and children. As a school, we are committed to providing the best possible learning outcomes for your children in a highly supportive and safe environment. The staff and I are most keen to enjoy the partnership journey with you to support your child to see the greatness in themselves as a leader and learner.
